Terms
Short on purpose. Terms nobody finishes are terms nobody agreed to.
What this service is
CommitCycle is a board and a set of rules for work done by AI coding agents: it records what a task is allowed to touch, who owns each protected path, and what was decided. You reach it at dash.commitcycle.com, and optionally from your editor through an MCP connector.
What it does not do, today
Connecting a repository gives it a zone map and a record. On its own that doesnot block anything on your machine. Blocking a write as it happens needs software installed locally — the plugin ships and installs deliberately, and until somebody installs it, a connected repository is documented rather than guarded. Do not treat the one for the other; we say this here as well as in the product because it is the misunderstanding that would matter most.
Your account
- You need a working email address. Keep access to it — it is the only way in.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, including anything your agents do with a connector token you created.
- Tokens are secrets. If one leaks, revoke it on the pairing page; that is immediate and it is the only remedy, because we store only a hash.
Your content is yours
Tasks, specs, zone maps and records you create stay yours. We claim no licence over them beyond what running the service requires — storing them, showing them back to you, and sending them where you asked us to. We do not use them to train models. You can ask for a copy or for deletion at any time; see Privacy.
Fair use
Do not use this service to:
- break the law, or help something else break it;
- store other people's personal data you have no right to hold;
- attack the service or anyone else through it, including using it to route or disguise traffic;
- resell access to it while it is free.
We can suspend an account that does these things. If we do, we will tell you which one and why, and you can take your data with you.
What we do not promise
This is young software, offered free while it is this young, and it is providedas is. We do not promise it will be available, that it will be correct, or that it will not lose data — we take backups and we take it seriously, and neither of those is a guarantee. Do not make CommitCycle the only place something important exists.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from using it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited.
Price
Free today. If that changes, you will hear it from us before it applies to you, and never retroactively.
Ending it
You can stop at any time — ask us to delete your account and we will. We can end it too, with notice to the address you signed in with, except where you have broken the fair-use rules above and the breach is serious enough to act on immediately.

Said plainly, because these terms are weaker without it: a registered company entity, its address and a governing jurisdiction are not published here yet. If your organisation requires a named legal counterparty and a choice of law before you connect a repository, that is not satisfied today. We would rather lose that signup than paper over it.
Changes
If these terms change materially, we will write to the address you signed in with before the change applies. The date at the top is the date they last changed.
